Rebecca Little
Head of School
How did you discover Montessori? Like many Montessori educators, I came to love Montessori through my own child's experience with Montessori Education. I was working in another profession at the time, and was looking for the best program for my child when a friend asked if I had visited the local Montessori School. I visited the school and have been involved in Montessori Education ever since in a variety of capacities: Parent, Volunteer, Educator, Admissions Director, and Head of School!
Why do you love being a Montessori teacher? I love Montessori as both an educational philosophy and as a way of life. The philosophy is built on the core ideas of respect for all, peace, grace and courtesy and individualized learning and growth.
What about WSM attracted you to the school? The collaborative nature of all the stakeholders at WSM is in large part what attracted me to the school. I was able to see the common thread that\ bonded the community around the love of Montessori from my initial interactions with all! Both the indoor and outdoor campus represents the beauty of the prepared environment that is the foundation for the work of both the children and the adults. I am excited to be a part of the opportunity for growth for WSM and all those who are a part of this great community.
