Admissions Update
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are open! Availability is as follows:
Toddler Program (age 18 months to 3 years):

Admissions Process for New Students

3. Submit a New Student Application.
New Student Applications are accepted at any point in the admissions process. Take time to learn about Winston-Salem Montessori School and fill out an application when you are ready.
4. For Children’s House and older - Tracy will reach out to schedule a Child Visit
After an application is received, child visits are scheduled. A child visit is required for all applicants to the Children’s House, Elementary, and Adolescent programs. The faculty meets one-on-one with your child in the Montessori classroom. Caregivers/Parents observe through the observation window.
5. For AP and Elementary Only - Submit a Teacher Recommendation and School Records
A recommendation from the applicant’s current teacher is required for all Elementary and Adolescent Program applicants. Teacher recommendations are confidential and can be uploaded or mailed directly to the Admissions Office. If your child does not currently attend school, please submit the form to someone who knows your child. For example: a dance or art teacher, church, synagogue, or daycare center leader.
Any applicant who has already attended school must submit a Request for Records to the current school and all previous schools. Student records/transcripts can be emailed electronically directly from the child’s school(s) to the Admissions Office or mailed directly to the school prior to scheduling the child’s visit.

6. Receive an Admissions Decision
Admissions decisions are communicated to parents starting March 1 and continue on a rolling basis as the application process is completed. We undertake a deliberate and thoughtful approach when deciding whether to offer an enrollment contract, factoring in all the information gathered throughout the admissions process.
Securing your child’s space is completed by submitting the online enrollment packet and paying an enrollment fee and deposit online within two weeks’ notice of acceptance. The deposit is applied toward your child’s tuition.

As the Montessori Toddler Program has classrooms where children “age – up” when they turn three years old in to our Children’s House classrooms, there are a limited number of vacancies that are created by this process during the school year (November to March), creating “rolling admissions” for the Toddler program. The greatest number of openings occur in the fall.

Upon completion of the application your child is placed in a waiting pool for the next vacancy in the program you selected.

Due to the multi-age groupings in all Montessori classrooms, when a vacancy opens up in the program we try to match the applicant to maintain the balance of age and gender in that classroom, so that applicant is not necessarily the next on the list.

The dates listed in the admissions schedule is to give your family the best chance of enrolling your student on time. If you miss the due date, don’t worry! We accept applications at any point throughout the year. Please apply whenever your family is ready. We look forward to connecting with you.
