“It is absolutely certain that the secret of future human power lies hidden within humanity as it develops—within young people.”
- Dr. Maria Montessori
How did you discover Montessori? My Montessori origin story began as an assistant guide in a Children’s House learning community. This work, observing, understanding, and supporting human development, called to me in such a deep and holistic way, for it is at once individual and societal, personal, cultural, and universal.
What do you love about being a Montessori teacher? I believe that my service as a Montessori Guide is the most compelling way I can support humanity realize its full potential and inspire a peaceful world community. Mathematics provides a wonderful and necessary lens through which to understand human imagination, creativity, and ingenuity, and offers us a roadmap to effectively guide our great work moving forward.
What about WSM attracted you to the school? I am inspired by the integrity of the prepared environment at every level, and our collective commitment to realize Dr. Montessori’s vision of education as an aid to life.
