How did you discover Montessori?
I've been aware of the distinctive strengths of Montessori since my childhood in Sri Lanka. It has a world-renowned reputation!
Why do you love being on the WSM Board?
I very much appreciate giving back to WSM, and using my expertise to ensure the school's continued success.
What about WSM attracted you to the school?
As a university professor who studies well-being and character development, I'm very grateful that my children attend a school with a mission that closely aligns with both my values and the scientific evidence on healthy child development. As I have observed in my son Micah's development during his three years at the school, WSM's mission is to foster a healthy sense of autonomy, creativity, and mastery among its students at an early age and set a strong foundation for the self-actualization of each student to become the best person they can be. I’m excited that my daughter Maya has now started at WSM and look forward to her benefiting in the same way.
What is a fun fact/interest/hobby you’d like to share?
I'm trying my best to get my kids into cricket!
