Financial Aid
The Financial Aid program was created to assist families with tuition in the form of need-based grants. Our school is committed to supporting those families who cannot meet the full expense of current tuition rates. The Financial Aid Committee is dedicated to distributing these funds to as many eligible families as possible who desire an authentic Montessori education for their children. The distribution is determined yearly, based on the number of applicants and the amount of money that the school has allocated for aid. The actual amount distributed per family may change year to year based on the need of the applicants and the budgetary restraints of the School. Award of aid one year does not guarantee future aid, but previous recipients are given priority.
The financial aid allocation is decided by the Financial Aid Committee and the Head of School. The Parents' Financial Aid Statement and results are considered private and confidential information by The Montessori School. The information is used only to determine your families need for assistance in offsetting the cost of tuition.
For a student to be considered for allocation of aid the student must either be currently enrolled at the School or have an Admissions Application on file for the next enrollment period. The process to apply for aid is outlined below.
- Submit the TMS Financial Aid Application. This includes basic information that will assist the committee in fairly determining need. Submittal information is listed on the form.
- Complete the SSS Parents' Financial Statement (PFS). SSS is an agency sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Complete the form at www.nais.org/financialaid/sss and use School Code 1485. The results will be mailed directly the School.
On occasion, families will decline an award, therefore mid-year or late applications are sometimes possible. For the highest probability of award for the 2010-2011 School Year we recommend you follow the deadlines below:
- February 12, 2010 Both TMS and SSS Financial Aid Applications Due
- February 19, 2010 Financial Aid Recipients Notified
